On July 17, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Alexander Bulris and Jim Karygiannis, members of the House of Commons of Canada, vice presidents of Canada-Armenia parliamentary friendship
Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that during the recent years a progress has been made in the sphere of cooperation with Canada, and also added, that Armenia gives a large importance to the enlargement and deepening of multidimensional relations with Canada
The Armenian Foreign Minister highly assessed the parliamentary diplomacy as an important framework of cooperation between the states, and welcomed the activities of the Canadian MPs aimed at the development of Armenian-Canadian relations.
Minister Nalbandian also stressed the importance of the participation of the observation mission of the Canadian Parliament Members in the upcoming Presidential elections in Nagorno-Karabakh, which, according to the head of MFA, gives an opportunity to get familiar with the realities right in place and form an unbiased understanding about the election process and its compliance with international standards.
The sides also touched upon a number of regional issues.
